If you’ve been following us on social media, you will have seen me getting super excited about the arrival of Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil. I’ve raved about the difference Olaplex can make to hair on the blog, and this product is no exception!
Olaplex calls this a ‘weightless reparative styling oil’ which can repair, strengthen and hydrate all types of hair. This wonder product also offers heat protection, and it promises to increase shine, softness, and even the vibrancy of your colour! Oh, and it’s ultra-light.
Where does No.7 fit into an Olaplex routine?
Well if you’ve read my previous blog posts, you’ll know that No.1 Bond Multiplier is used in salon with your colour to prevent any damage, especially from bleach. No.2 Bond Perfector is used to hydrate and strengthen after your colour is taken off. No.3 Hair Perfector is the one you can use as a mask at home to keep hair strong and super smooth. Then there’s the trio of products that will give you the best blow dry ever; No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner, and No.6 Bond Smoother which all hydrate the hair and fight frizz.
And now we have the No. 7 Bonding Oil which can be used before heat styling or as a smoother and pick-me-up if your hair is feeling a little dry.
Why should you use hair oils?
Oils have actually been used in hair care for thousands of years, but today’s oils are much more advanced. They’re light, formulated to not leave the hair looking greasy, and they contain nourishing extracts that leave the hair looking and smelling amazing.
Hair oils mimic the action of your hair’s natural oils that are produced in the scalp’s oil glands and protect and soften the hair. They also keep the hair hydrated by preventing water loss.
Of course, an oil is still an oil, even if it is light, so a little tends to go a long way. Whether you use a hair oil daily, or you use it just when you feel it’s needed, they can make a huge difference to the look and feel of your hair.
